“There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls”
~ George Carlin
The theme for this weeks photo challenge is serenity.
So many things symbolise serenity for me: a peaceful view from a mountain top, a beautiful sunrise or sunset, the sound of a trickling stream, but mostly a big, bight moon in a perfectly clear sky.
The moon has always been a symbol of mystery, having been studied by so many civilisations. Even though a lot of the mystery has been replaced with science, the moon still fascinates me. There is nothing more peaceful than lying back on my bed and admiring it through the window. It has a way of grounding me and reminding me how small and insignificant my worries and stresses may be. The fact that it is the same moon that the ancients gazed at millenia ago is also pretty damn cool.
